The Threshold Alliance The Military ties between China and Pakistan

The Chinese and Pakistani military have become more entwined as a result of geopolitical changes in South Asia over the past ten years, which have been sparked by intensified US-China competition, a significant fall in China-India relations, and the 2021 withdrawal of US soldiers from Afghanistan. Armed forces and navies of the two nations are cooperating more closely through staff and officer exchanges, equipment sharing, and complex joint exercises. Yet, as this analysis concludes, a comprehensive alliance between China and Pakistan is not unavoidable, as Chinese errors and other points of contention could delay its realisation.
