In the Indus Basin, India and Pakistan are engaged in dangerous play.

India notified Pakistan on January 25 that the Indus Waters Treaty must be changed. Pakistan has steadfastly declined to interact. The treaty, which was initially signed in 1960 by India, Pakistan, and the World Bank, grants India and Pakistan ownership rights to the waters of various rivers in the Indus Basin.
