Pakistan, officially known as the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The OIC is an international organization consisting of 57 member states, primarily Muslim-majority countries, and serves as a collective voice for the Muslim world.

Pakistan has been an active member of the OIC since its establishment in 1969. The country has actively participated in various OIC meetings, conferences, and forums on political, economic, social, and cultural issues affecting the Muslim world. Pakistan has often used the OIC platform to raise concerns related to the rights and welfare of Muslims globally, particularly on issues such as the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Kashmir dispute, Islamophobia, and the protection of religious sites.

As a member of the OIC, Pakistan has also played a role in shaping the organization’s agenda and initiatives. It has collaborated with other member states to address common challenges and promote cooperation in areas such as trade, development, education, and health. Pakistan has contributed to OIC initiatives aimed at fostering unity and solidarity among member states and has been involved in efforts to enhance economic and political cooperation within the Muslim world.

Moreover, Pakistan has hosted several OIC summits and conferences, including the 4th OIC Summit in Lahore in 1974 and the 10th OIC Summit in Islamabad in 1997. These events provided opportunities for member states to discuss and coordinate their positions on various regional and international issues.

In recent years, Pakistan has also sought support from the OIC on the Kashmir issue, advocating for the rights of the Kashmiri people and calling for a resolution of the dispute in accordance with UN resolutions and the wishes of the Kashmiri people.

Overall, Pakistan’s membership in the OIC has allowed it to engage with other Muslim-majority countries and coordinate its efforts to address issues of common concern within the Muslim world. The OIC provides a platform for Pakistan to amplify its voice on global matters and work towards promoting solidarity, cooperation, and the well-being of Muslim communities worldwide
